Organic Bed & Breakfast Cal Calsot, Spanish Pyrenees.
The rural B&B Cal Calsot welcomes you for beautiful walks
Lidia and Marc, the hostess and host of this establishment, love to spoil their guests in their early 20th century farmhouse, situated 1,100 meters above sea level. The bed & breakfast is located in the mountain village of Montella, a stone’s throw from La Seu d’Urgell, France and Andorra. This is where, in the middle of the largest nature reserve in the Pyrenees, they work hard to minimise their environmental footprint, gently promoting sustainable tourism that sees travellers visiting relatively undisturbed areas to admire and enjoy the landscape, flora and fauna.
Ecotourism and active adventures in the Spanish Pyrenees – B&B Calsot awaits you
The moment you enter this eco-lodge you’ll shed your shoes and go into relax-mode. This is the departure point par excellence for lovers of walking, but ski aficionados (Andorra) and cyclists will also feel completely at home. Bicycles can be washed at the B&B and minor repairs made, while ski boots can be warmed. Or you can visit the Roman museums, thermal baths, go horse-riding, birdwatching and explore the flora.
‘Casa Rural Cal Calsot is a warm and welcoming home where the emphasis is on a minimal ecological impact, right down to the smallest details (such as the lack of plastic bags in the dustbins).’
B&B Cal Calsot: organic breakfasts, suppers and picnics with local specialities
Homemade desserts and cakes using stoneground flour, organic wines and cava, local craft beers and meat from a farm in the same village – it doesn’t get any better than this! The fresh and seasonally-bound meals use herbs from the garden or that were picked while out walking, and your hosts will provide vegetarian or gluten-free food on request.
‘An unforgettable stay. A healthy and natural life, pure air and Pineo pure artesian and natural mineral water’
Organic Bed & Breakfast for 12 guests; ecotourism at its best.
Small is beautiful. Five spacious zen rooms, all naturally lit and with a beautiful view of the Cadi mountains. A rainwater shower and certified organic Cal Calsot shower gel, together with Texidors linen towels and hand-woven sheets. Texidors is a great Catalonian social project for people with severe disabilities that only uses hand-operated wooden looms. And each room welcomes you with a free bottle of Pineo, artesian natural mineral water, bottled just ten kilometres away. Your warm water meanwhile comes from solar panels.
‘Pineo only comes in returnable bottles with a deposit. That means 96 percent fewer CO² emissions when compared to disposable glass or plastic bottles or aluminium. Transporting the bottles there and back, even over 2,000 km, and cleaning them results in less than four percent in terms of the CO² footprint. And water tastes much nicer in glass than it does in plastic.’
